Jellyfish lit by red light. I like how the big one looks like a spaceship all backlit like that :) Photo taken at the Shark Reef aquarium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Hehe they scare me too, I was stung by a cloud of little ones in the Cayman Islands years ago. The tide just washed them right into me while I was snorkeling. Owwwwwwww! That sucked, I had welts for days :P Still, they are pretty in aquariums :)

I would have a panic attack if I saw one in the water. lol. I'm freaked out by the ocean in general. All the aquatic lifeforms down there look like aliens. :fear:

Ah well. Lucky you weren't in Australia and they weren't Box jellies. Now THAT would be horrific.

And they're tiny. ><

I don't I'll ever go to Australia. They have the highest concentration of deadly animals then any other land mass. You're more likely to run into something poisonous or deadly in Australia then in the Amazon. :o

Haha, I have an online friend who's Australian, and she would agree with you (it really is like everything there wants to kill you! Oh and Eucalyptus has a tendency to explode if it catches on fire because of the oils in the bark and leaves. Huzzah!) but she loves her country, and I would actually like to go someday :) I'll just be careful of the biting stinging things ;)
